One day years ago I heard that our beloved Accounting Manager Tammi Brown used to sing backup for MC Hammer… In disbelief I asked her about it, she played it down with a giggle. “Oh yeah, I did that a few times.”

Years later I learned more about her singing career as she would periodically do shows and events and tell me about it. A few months back she casually asked if I could take a pic of the marquee at the Rio Theater as she was going to be on it. She was even nominated for a Grammy in 2009.

Now, everywhere I go in Santa Cruz I either see a poster with her name on it or hear acclaim from random folks. In fact the other day, a local photographer couple Vicki & Chuck Rogers posted this on my Rio Theater image, “I missed the show because I did not know who Tammi Brown was. Big mistake.” A few days later they posted these images.
