Tommy Fynn did great at the Globe “slaughter at the opera” contest, but unfortunately he hurt his knee on the big rail just before finals so technically he got 10th since only ten were picked to go through. Never mind mate you still have your interview coming out in the OZ magazine The Skateboarders Journal.

Flo Marfaing has been getting bizzy in China with the Vans Euro team, he told me that the skating was amazing and that they were betting on different foods to eat ECT. He bet Leo Sharp the photographer that he couldn’t eat a whole bunch of Wasabi in one go for the price of 4 bucks, so without thinking he lobbed it in his gob, apparently he went so red in the face the whole restaurant was laughing. Good one Flo.

Emmanuel Guzman is in the midst of doing a Thrasher Magazine interview so look out for that in the future, also his new Spitfire wheel should be out in shops in the next 3 to 4 months.

Alex Carolino is now riding for DC Brazil and has a new part in “Duotone”, which is a new Brazilian video.

Alex Moul (me) should have a little part sorted for the next Strange Notes as well as Carolino and Flo and look out for the new Screaming shirts coming soon.

Last but not least we have decided to write off skateboarding because we are not selling enough gear, so we have gone into the car industry, nice knowing you all.

So our Team Manager paid us a visit from SoCal this past week. In return, we put him up in one of the nicest motels the Beach Boardwalk flats have to offer - hey, we figured he could handle it. For those of you not from Santa Cruz, the flats are deceiving. To the unknowing tourist, they're where you go to soak up some sun, ride some rides, buy a deep fried twinki...killer shit like that. But after dark, you want to stay clear...unless you're planning on making headlines in our local newspaper...and not in a good way. Apparently no one broke these rules down for Alex...and he had quite the interesting night. If you want the full story, we're gonna have to let him tell it. Here's the card he gave us before leaving...

this is just a little update to let you know what the walking/rolling adverts have been up to.
Justin Strubing has been in New York shooting photos for a possible Skateboard mag interview and went to the Surf Expo mini ramp jam.
here is a pic of him and Brian Lotti who is making a short film called "Free Pegasus" and he met up with them and filmed a few days for it.

Look out for the next Vox Black and Blue DVD since Justin has the last part and SCS team mate Emmanuel Guzman will be in there ripping in his new shoes.
Talking of which, Manny went off to Coasta Rica over the holidays with his girl and told me a funny story. Whilst roaming in the rain Forrest they decided to get something to eat, the waiter recognized the Santa Cruz logo on his shirt and asked him his name, so he told him. “Holy shit” the guy said “ive read your interview’s in the skate mags” and then proceeded to call his mate who brought a board over for manny to do some tricks for them. The price of fame hey, you can’t even go on holiday without someone recognizing you and fanning out and in a rain Forrest of all places. Ha-ha.
Well he is back now and currently working on a Thrasher interview so keep your eyes peeled for that in the future.

Talking of Thrasher, I hope you got a chance to see our article from the No Rest In The Northwest Tour (Thrasher issue # 329 February).
Ted DeGros has been out to China for a little mission to film for a Canadian video called Strangebreww and the photos from the trip are in the latest Thrasher with a little interview. Result.

He is also off to Spain now to film with Florentin Marfaing so maybe I will find out some info on him soon too. But for now here is his new Satori ad.

Tommy Fynn has been killing it lately and has been invited to the Globe best trick contest over in OZ at the end of February, im sure he will blow some minds at that. Also it looks like he will be spending some time in California since he is working on a 6-month visa to come and stay with his mate Dennis Durant, you know you are going to see him in the American mags more soon.
Alex Carolino has been chilling with his wife and new born over Christmas but that’s not to say he hasn’t been skating, he has been filming for an upcoming Brazilian video called Duotone and the photos from that should be showcased in one of the Europe mags ect.
Plus he is now on SC apparel check out his new ad in Kingpin January 08.

Sid Melvin moved into a new place all the way next door. Lol. He has been working on a 411 video part and should have a Sidewalk Surfer interview coming soon. Sid now rides for SC apparel also. Check out his new Santa Cruz ad featuring the new Save Us Series.

To honor Keith’s 30 years of dedication, Santa Cruz is re-issuing his very first “Slasher” Pro Model graphic with a Special Edition “Thirty to Life” top graphic to mark the anniversary.

All collectors should take note – thirty years on the same company? Since day one, Meekster’s surf inspired pool slashing skate style earned him the Slasher name-sake and graphics by Jim Phillips. To date, one of the most recognized, iconic graphics in the Santa Cruz Skateboards / Phillips archives.

Meekster still shreds a pool like no other but like most Veterans has recently undergone knee surgery to fix some old battle wounds. The surgery went well and he’s claiming he’ll be back in action soon.

I thought this was a bit different.
Well Christmas time is usually for friends and family and all that, but mob grip rider Arto Saari has buggerd off to the desert this crimbo to build a sauna on the back of his trailer.

So when we are all fat and sick of turkey he will be sweating it all off in this beast of a steam room…well when it is finished. What a nutter. Ha-ha.

Anyone who was in the northwest when we did our tour out there might be glad to see some street skating photo’s of us lot coming out in the next Thrasher magazine. So keep yer eyes peeled.
Alex Carolino and Sid Melvin got a year younger on sunday so happy birthday to them.

Well we had the first pro team meeting in years and started planning for next year, its all secret right now but watch this space for info.

If you didn’t get a chance to see Tommy Fynn in the new 411 make sure you pick up a copy or borrow one and check it out, he has a ripping part and should not be missed.

Well if you don’t think Santa will be giving you an scs board for Christmas don’t try and rob your local skate shop like these knob heads tried to do. As you can see the police recovered the entire product nicked from “2 Felons” skate shop (funny name considering the crime) and it was all Santa Cruz boards, at least they had good taste.

The new strange note’s is out called “tastes like awesome” so check that out at a sk8 shop near you.
Mob grip rider arto saari stopped round for a haircut and his MOB shipment the other day as you can see it got quite funny.


Santa claws has got rid of his reindeer this year and replaced them with a brand new Harley still equipped with antlers, fair play. Lol

Now im not sure what kind of keg fun they have in the northwest but im telling ya you wont catch me drinking out of this, nutter’s.
