And let me tell you some things I have learned about Caswell on some tours. For the record this might not be indicative of his current lifestyle. I know he's been taking better care of himself lately. Read why in the Slap interview.
-Caswell is not afraid of any skatespot. He's always the first one to charge at a savage obstacle. Folks will be standing around and speculatin but you gotta get out of the way cause Caswell is already approaching it full speed. He'll start with something basic like a boardslide but before anyone has even stepped to it he's banged out like 6 "warm up" tricks. I hesitate to call them warm ups cause its usually a spot where a 50/50 is amazing and he's back smithing it.
-Caswell likes cigs. On tour I've been known to throw back a grit or two so when the room pairings go town I usually take one for the team in the lung dept.. He's been known to wake up in the middle of the night for one and go back to sleep. First thing again in the morning. He's always got a carton of the yellow Amercian Spirits. I think I might owe him a few boxes. Thanks Holmes.
-Red Bull, Beer, and Candy fuel this man. On trips when everyone else is heading to the vegetarian joint I'll get his back on some Mac Do. If it sounds like I follow him around on tour its cause I do. He's such an entertaining person to be around that I can't help but gravitate like a little moon around planet Berry. I think his diet and lifestyle affect his appetite cause I've never seen him finish a 6 piece nug. I get the leftovers.
-The kid has a heart of gold. He's way to hard on himself at times and I imagine it helps make him a better skater but sometimes you just want to tell him "Hey man, we love you. You're such an awesome person that you should love you too." I've been an aquaintance with him since he was a little shnark but didn't get to know him better until he got older. I've never heard anyone who knows him say anything but good things about his attitude and genuineness. He's one of the people I feel really lucky the skateboarding allowed me to get to know. Love ya, man.
