He's got a fabulous interview in the latest Thrasher (September).
Here's a sample:
You go boy.
One time we were on tour in Croatia and were having some van problems which had us get a multi-country 3 hour tow and left us stranded on the streets of Split Croatia at 3am without lodging.
As team manager I was taking the blame for the situation a little personal resulting in a pretty solid meltdown. I was probably thinking about some girl drama I was dealing with back home as well. That never helps.
I'd bought a bottle of grappa (italian for everclear) as a souvenier to bring home but just went ahead and cracked that baby open and started chugging.
I knew we weren't far from the ocean so my plan was to drink as much grappa as possible, head down to the beach and just see how far out I could swim out to sea.
I think I may have mentioned my semi suicidal plight to Silas cause he walked with me on my way out to sea. I never made it to the ocean. In fact I think I stumbled in circles around the block for a while till I gave up. Silas talked me down, we went back and found the rest of the crew and slept in a park. Good looking out my friend.
I guess my point to this story is not only is Silas one of the best skaters I've ever seen in my life but he's also a really good guy. Thank you Spicy Lep.
sincerly, ronald.
