This is the Krux Ad that was chosen "Best in its category" of "Sports Apparel and Equipment" by a certain main stream print mag. Big props to Ron Whaley for the Creative force, to Tosh Woods for executing precision layout skills, Brian Uyeda for master photography and of course Dan Murphy for being a sexy super model! Not to be forgotton, Special Thanks to the Argyle Downlow! With you, the ad would of never happened!
As stoked as Krux is for getting this acknowledgment, we find it curious that we won't be offered a copy of the book for free? As you read below, this Ad Company wants to charge us $49.95 which is as they state "Save $10 off our regular price".

So basically they make this book just to sell to the 500 companies that won Ad Awards so the companies can show off that they won the awards. Charging us for the book basically cancels the high of getting chosen to be in the book. But we're still stoked!

When we first started our Krux Myspace Page, we put this photo of the "Ground Beef" Krux Truck... just to see what people would think. The comments are endless right now but I will post my 3 favorite comments on it. Here's the truck:

C1. Can you eat these?
A1. Answer this... would you eat raw meat if it wasn't a truck? Maybe try grilling the thing first and slapping it between 2 toasty buns.
C2. I feel bad for the cows.
A2. I do too. Instead of just eating their flesh and muscles, we're now grinding the sh*t out of them and then tossing them away.
C3. Beef, it's whats for dinner.
A3. This is for skating son... not eating. Go eat some chick or something.

I felt like checking how it looked to see all the KFC's that happened in the 2006 season/schedule/roster on a map of our great country. CHECK THIS SH*T OUT! Awesome isn't even a valid word for this... maybe awesomazing?! So many in California, with the North West a close 2nd and the East Coast 3rd. But as far as who's the best kickflippers... that title goes to the East Coast! They ruled the kickflippin' titles this year! Way to go! As for you kickflippin' masters smack dab in the middle of the country.. y'all need to talk your shops into hosting some of these on the 2007 season!
We have one final Krux Kickflip Challenge to end the season and that lucky spot goes out to The Great Lakes region.
Saturday, August 12th @ Underload Board Shop in Eau Claire, WI! I hope you guys beat the record of 283... what a way to close the season if you do! I'll even throw in an extra set of Krux Trucks if someone beats the record at this event... just hit me up with an email if you do it!

..at The Finest Skateshop in St. Petersburg, Florida! From the moment this shop confirmed their parcipitation and date with Krux, the local shredders in this town were training and preparing to be put on the map as the Krux Kickflipin' Champs! Let's see how it all went down:

On Aug. 6th 2006 @ 12pm The Finest Skateshop had a Back to School event for the kids. They went back to school August 8th.. BOOO! The Finest Skateshop held the Krux Kickflip Challenge, Shaquefa (Skatepark of Tampa riders) demo, & Free BBQ it was held @ Lake Vista.

Between 30 - 80 kids showed up for the event & 31 kids sign up for the Krux Kickflip Challenge. The Kickflip Challenge went down on the basketball court... probably cause NO one plays basketball anymore.. turn it into a ramp court! They had all 31 kids line up & go one at time. It was hot Florida day!! At the end of Kickflip Challenge there was trophies given out & lots of product. The last standing 3 kickflippers were blessed with a 1 minute H2O break cause it was a Hot Florida day. I'm sure no one coverin' their rolls by wearin' a shirt left without a serious farmer tan.

The winners of The Krux Kickflip Challenge are:
3rd place - Ricky Martin did 63 kickflips in a row
2nd place - Nate Humphery did 97 kickflips in a row
1st place - Pat Daniel did 154 kickflips in a row

No record holders but still got some champs! Thank you from Krux to the Finest Skateshop and everyone who showed up to make this event so awesome! What a great way for these kids to end the summer and start the school!
