The Bone broke the "Stabbing Season" hypothesis down to me the other day. Generally, when Ron tells me something there's always a "it doesn't leave this car" clause attached to it. But this wasn't another tale of the sexual exploits of your modern pro skateboarder, this was a socioeconomic observation that stuck with me since he laid it on me. He could tell you better but in the most basic terms, it's that when times get tough and people feel pushed in a corner they are more apt to make gully decisions. We both recalled as a kids how when the other recession went down (which was like chocolate rainbows compared to this one) crime was up, bank robbery stats were up, dudes were getting stabbed in Salinas like everyday, shit was rugged.
So at this point in the blog there's maybe 10 of you out there still reading this. Maybe better. I'm not one of those dudes that writes the dime a dozen skate-epiphony. It always seemed really obvious to me that skateboarding ruled and didn't need to be explained but f*ck, I can't help it, I'm compelled.
Go skate, it's great and has nothing to do with your PG&E bill.
